About WhereToTravel
wheretotravel.info helps you decide where to go and when to go. We cover 106 countries across Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania and Africa, with month-by-month scores that show what weather and conditions to expect before you book.
How the scores work: for each country, we look at climate data from 2015 to 2024. That's a full decade of daily records, so one freak heatwave or one unusually wet week doesn't skew the picture. We turn that history into a simple month-by-month score (scoring version 1), so you can see at a glance which months tend to be warm, wet, dry, or cold in a given place, and compare months against each other.
We're honest about tough conditions. If a month is typically rainy, cold, or scorching hot, we say so and explain why, rather than just telling you to skip it. Some travellers want exactly that: snow for skiing, the green season for lower prices and lush landscapes, or dark skies for seeing the northern lights. The goal is to give you the facts so you can match the conditions to what you want from your trip.
Our data comes from established sources: ERA5 climate reanalysis via Open-Meteo for temperature and rainfall, Open-Meteo Marine for sea temperature, Nager.Date for public holidays, and Wikidata and RestCountries for country facts and events.
Finally, every country page is checked by a person before it goes live. Automated data gives us the numbers, but a human reviews each page for sense and accuracy, so you're not relying on raw data alone when you plan your trip.
